A bit of History on the Jackie O House
The Jackie O House was built in 1907 by Thomas G. Owen. Mr. Owen was a great lover of flowers and he spent much of his time in the cultivation and propagation process of flowers in his home yard . . . from this little beginning grew the mammoth greenhouse industry which was said to be the largest floral establishment south of the Ohio River. Cut flowers were shipped everyday of the year to all parts of the American continent. The area is very extensive . . . at least 200,000 square feet under glass. . . where all varieties of cut flowers. potted plants, ornamental evergreens, and roses were grown.

The Jackie O' House is now included in the National Historical Registry.
